Well its time for another update on my article directory worldofarticles.net

Two months have passed since i made a new update. In these two months the number of visitors is doubled. An average of 150 visitors are coming to worldofarticles.net daily with even peaks of 300. The number of articles submissions has grown so fast i can’t even approve everything. There are 3195 articles in the database from 1171 different authors. And i have another 18576 waiting for approval. Also im starting to make a little profit from the site. Its not much because i havent done much with ads, but i generate some clicks from adsense.

Well that was it for today, lets see how the directory grows even bigger.

Blogging Ping list

People who makes blogs often make use of ping list. A ping site is a big hub who lists all the new posts from ten thousends of blogs over the internet. Often these pingsites have high pr and alot of traffic which can be used to grow your blog.

This is a list of pingsites who can be added in your wordpress admin.
Go to options and then choose writing. at the bottom of the page you see a text field called “update services”
Copy and paste the list into that postbox and save it. When you make a new article these sites will be informed that you have updated your blog.

According to research by Cyberwyre “Mesothelioma lawyers�? is with $54.33 the most expensive term in adsense.

This is quiet remarkable as its a) a combination of words, and b) it doesn’t seem to be a ‘big’ topic like mortgage and loans. Two terms one would expect on top of this list.

What is mesothelioma? Mesothelioma is a form of cancer caused by contact with asbestos. Ah, that explains why “Mesothelioma lawyers�? is high up in those results. Employees that worked with asbestos in the past and who are now considering to sue their employers. Big business in the US.

The Article Directory is getting bigger

Almost another month has passed. Alot has happend with my article directory.

About a week ago i signed myself up for isnare. This is a site where writers can submit their articles to. Isnare will distribute these articles along the article directory’s. If you have your own article directory you can sign up here. Sent a mail to them and you can ask to be added in their database. Select “site inclusion request” as type of the message. Its worth trying.

Today i approved almost 200 articles and my database contains 480 articles now from 110 different authors. And submissions are being made daily now. Also the traffic is growing. A month ago i had an average of 50 unique visitors a day. Today its already 70 unique visitors a day.

Ok that was the story for today. Keep reading my blog cause i have alot more plans to enter this new world.

New Marketing Masters

With some friends we launched a website called newmarketingmasters.com. Its a site with alot of content and also this site is growing alot. We’ve also made a forum for people who are interested to learn the ins and outs of online marketing. There are special sections with content that can be used for your sites, tips and hints and you can sell your stuff in our store for free!

It has been a while since i made a post here. Alot has happend already. My article directory ( worldofarticles.net ) is getting bigger every day. At the moment the database holds 110 articles from 39 different authors. Articles are being submitted every day. And traffic (+/- 50 unique a day) is coming in too.. Im really interested to see how this site grows by the months and i will keep updates inhere.

Made My Own Article Directory

Today i set up an Article Directory Worldofarticles.net. Article Directory’s are to get 100% legitimate traffic from the search engines. The script im using is not some kind of script that automaticly picks articles from the web and post them to my own site. People will actually be submitting there home made articles to my directory.

Article directory’s are the way to get 1000’s of free backlinks to your sites. Every day more people find out this way to make some extra promotion for their sites.

A writer submits his articles to the big Article Directory’s across the net. Owners of smaller directory’s copy the articles (this is legal as long as you keep the artciles in tact. Don’t remove or add stuff). This way articles get spread into hunderds of article directory’s and the writer of the article gets free backlinks to the site he promotes in that article.

The top article directory’s are making thousands and thousands of dollars on a daily base, the only thing they do i copy articles written by other people to their site and host it. These dollars can be made by adding advertising ads or sell products on those content pages which get flooded with tons of se traffic.
So as you can see i thought this was something nice to try out and i setup my own directory which can be found at www.worldofarticles.net

Finding the right keywords for your subject Part 2 Supply

Ok in the last post i made a list of keywords where was a “demand” for. In this post we are going to look how much those demands are supplied by other sites. We need to find the keywords with a high demand and a low supply. This way i have the best chance to get the most visitors on my site.

Ok i have made a list of keywords in the previous posts. Now im going to launch my favorite browser program Firefox. You don”t use Firefox? Download it now. You can find the link in the menu on the right side of the page below the rss feeds or at the bottom of this article. Its free and its hunder times better then Internet Explorer. Firefox protects the user from popups, virusses and spyware. Ok back to the supply..

After i launched Firefox i go to Google

I am going to search for my keywords in Google and check how many sites there are made for that word. Make sure you add ” before and after the words.

Im going to lookup the sites with the term “ebook” first

As you can see there are almost 49 million sites listed on this keyword.
The second keyword im going to check is “free ebook”

As you can see there are alot less sites listed on this keywords.
Im going to continue doing this for all the keywords i made up in the previous post. After that i make a list where i add all this information.
Because the main keyword ebook is way to big i am going to drop this word and specify myself more into smaller niches.
I”ll get something like this:

In the latest column you see the word info. You have to get the information of the top20 sites (or more if you like). Give them a quick visit, look what they offer and make a quick note into this column. You can add as many as you like, i just made a quick list to give you an idea.
Finally two more columns need to be added to this list. Possible Partners and Ideas for Content.
When you are surfing arround in the top20 of your keyword you can find alot of usefull sites. You can find sites with information/content you can use on your own site and you can find partners for in the future. Merchants or Affiliate programs who can help me to earn some dollars.
As bottom line for this post:
Your best words should have HIGH demands and LOW supplies.

Finding the right keywords for your subject Part 1 Demand

In my last post i told how i got a subject for my site. In this post im going to tell how to generate keywords for it where people actually look for. With this keywords we can get search engine listings (listings in Google, Yahoo and MSN). To find those keywords i made my own “Keyword Tool Center” Its made of three windows.

In this post we are going to take out the demand part.

Demand

My first merchant program where i talked about before has made a special tool to make it easier for us to find keywords. Its called Search IT. Search IT is a 4 step tool who makes it easier to find good keywords.

Step 1
Go to the Search IT toolbox and select “brainstorming” at the first step.

Step 2
For the first time i used overture from Yahoo. Overture is a tool that tells you how many times each keyword was searched for during the month that its indicated for. Ofcourse its not 100% accurate, but its a great indicator of popular search terms.

Step 3
I filled in my keyword “ebook”

Step 4
I dont have a 2nd search term so i will leave this one empty.

Ok i pressed the Seach It button and i got this result
As you can see in december there was searched 113630 for ebook and 24400 for free ebook. So we know now that this is the demand for the keyword ebook.
Mind that these numbers are always indicators of the real thing.
Tomorrow im going to explain the part about supply.

Choosing the right content

The easiest way to make a good site is to write about your passion. Everybody has a passion. Everybody knows something about something that others don’t. So there are always people interested in your site. Brainstorming about the subject of your site is an important step in the road to make a succesfull site. Another important thing is that most people like to tell about their passions. So it makes working easy and fun. Keep in mind that you need to take the time for it. The most people fail in any business because they don’t plan adequantely.

Some ways to generate ideas:

What are your hobby’s?
What do you like to talk or read about?
What are you doing in your spare time?

These are all ways to generate ideas for a subject of the site you are going to make. If you have a hard time making up some ideas just ask your relatives. They know more about you then you could think.
Another idea for a subject is to write about problems. People with problems are looking for awnsers.

So grab a pen and a piece of paper and start writing down all the things that cross your mind. Because we don’t know yet how to choose a subject which is profitable we just take the one that excites us. In my next update im going to talk about how to work these keywords out
